Autism Programs and Services

Provided by Autism Society of British Columbia (Autism BC)

AutismBC empowers, supports, and connects the autism community in BC.
AutismBC provides credible, community-informed information and lived-experience insights to help reduce the mental load of navigating autism resources. While they do not provide direct service provider referrals or help with paperwork, they can point you toward helpful tools, guides, and programs so you can make informed choices with more confidence.

The following programs and services are offered:
  • Waiting for Assessment Workshop: 3-hour workshop that provides new families with the tools they need to best prepare themselves and their child for the, often long, road ahead and to ensure they are prepared for the assessment process.
  • What is Autism? Workshop: 1-hour workshop where participants learn how community members on the autism spectrum may experience the world with the goal of increasing autism awareness and acceptance.
  • AutismBC Talks: Online presentations that provide valuable learnings related to autism and the community. Whether you want to expand your knowledge, explore new topics, or gain a deeper understanding, this is the perfect place to start.
  • AutismBC Goes: A series of free, safe, supportive, and inclusive events designed to connect the autism community. They work to minimize the financial and social barriers for autistic people and their families.
  • AutismBC Socials: Social clubs for kids, teens, and adults on the autism spectrum as well as their siblings and friends. These clubs offer support and connect the autism community through inclusive groups, clubs, and events.
  • AutismBC Meets: Support groups that provide opportunities for people in the autism community to connect, empower, and learn from one another. Meets are perfect for those who want a casual atmosphere to interact with other parents, families, or self-advocates.
  • Ask AutismBC: Searchable Resource Guide Website with to help explain common questions on Autism and pathways to community-level supports
