The Central Addiction Intake Team (CAIT) coordinates admissions into VCH contracted residential substance use beds, ensuring that clients are being matched to the most appropriate treatment facility that can meet their individual needs. The CAIT counselors stay connected and provide support to clients while waiting admission into residential substance use services.

Referrals are to be completed by a community counselor/Health care professional in collaboration with the client. Once a referral is received, it is reviewed by the CAIT Concurrent Disorder Counselors for completeness and to ensure clients are being matched to the facility best suited to meet their individual needs. The referral will also be checked to ensure all required paperwork and funding verification is available.

Please see below for the Central Addiction Intake Referral Package, to be used to refer Youth to CAIT treatment programs (Peak House, Young Bears Lodge, VCH Day Treatment Program). In this referral package is further information on each of the listed facilities.
