Early Psychosis Intervention Program (EPI) - Adults - Port Alberni

Provided by Island Health

Provides early identification and treatment for first episode of psychosis. For residents of the Port Alberni area aged 19+.
Provides early intervention and treatment for psychotic disorders including:
  • Psychosis NOS
  • First Break
  • Schizophrenia
  • Schizoaffective
Basic early psychosis services provided include:
  • Complete assessment of symptoms and physical functioning
  • Medication management
  • Case management
  • Family support and education
  • Client education
  • Treatment of problems in living and other mental health issues
Eligibility Criteria:
  • For adults aged 19 to 29 living in the Port Alberni area
  • Anyone can refer, including self-referral, but should go through the intake services first at the Roger Street office to determine whether or not they have a mental illness
Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) Navigation Link for Clients/Patients: This service link central access phone number will provide help for clients navigating Island Health services for substance use, harm reduction and mental health. People seeking these services can call 1-888-885-8824 to speak directly with a Service Link provider. (This is not a line for health professionals to initiate a referral).
